2022 Greenville Grade 5 Champs!

On May 28, 2022, the band travelled to Greenville, SC to compete, and took first place overall. It was a great day for the band, but a bit sad, too, as it was the last competition for our eldest piper, John, who is off to college in the fall.

Over The Top

We were honored to accept an invitation from Raleigh’s premiere pipe band, Wake & District to play in a concert! This concert honored the 100 year anniversary of WWI’s Armistice Day. Along the amazing Wake & District Band were local Irish and Scottish Dancers. This event was a big step for many of the beginners. This was their first time on stage as well as the first time playing in front of people. Many, many thanks to all of the great people at Wake & District for this opportunity, it was a night to remember!

Good-Byes

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

This past end of summer, 2018, the band said “good-bye” to our first Pipe Major. Liam served as the founding piper and pipe major of this young band just a few years ago. He went on to college to study art and to continue piping as he has time. Hopefully we will see him around still. Another piper also aged out at the same time. Alex graduated and went on to college. These two strong pipers left a big gap in our pipe section but we have already seen others coming up and will hopefully continue to grow.

Thanks Liam for your wonderful leadership over this young group. You are appreciated.
